ISO 22000 Management systems for food safety
ISO 22000 Food safety management systems is a standard applied by food business operators, on the principles of HACCP defined by the Codex Alimentarius, and is aligned with the standards of other ISO standards.
It can be adopted by all operators in the food chain, not only directly involved in the food production process, but also by all indirectly involved actors (e.g. packaging producers, cleaning services, etc.). Every single link in the production chain is responsible for applying the standard, which is not aimed at certifying the entire supply chain.
This standard acts as a reference point for operators for the application of EU regulations on hygiene and food safety.
